While at Mawamba, we will make sure that you are treated to interesting, fun and learning activities, moreover, we also have several optional tours available in case you are still thirsty for more or if looking for activities that meet your special interests. These include:

Turtle Night Tour: Available during Green Turtle nesting season, from July to September. Tour is regulated by the National Park and conditions for participation apply. Please red the “Green Turtle” section in this site for more information. Trip length: 2 hours.

Go Fishing: Come and fish with us in our fully equipped boats and with the help of our experienced captains. Some of the most interest species one can find in the fresh waters of the canals are Snook and Tarpon. Includesf or captain, boat for 2, equipment and tackle. Minimum fishing time: 02 hours.

Night Hike: You will enjoy the magic of Tortuguero on daytime, but this walking night trip on our private trail next to the National Park will provide a magical opportunity to enjoy the sounds of the Tropical Rainforest at night.

Mawamba Massage: Tired, stressed? Let some expert hands transport you to a world of peace and tranquility. Massage will be provided in your room.

Katonga Floating Restaurant: Not a canoe, not just a boat, Katonga is the new fun way to quietly navigate the Tortuguero Lagoon. Aboard Katonga we offer,

Sunset Tours: Enjoy a Caribbean sunset, while touring the canals and sipping a beverage of your choice (wine, beer or soda)
Dinner: A Fantastic choice! Admire the village of Tortuguero at night from the boat and enjoy the canals while dinning aboard with us.

Early Morning Tour: Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the wildlife of the area! Get a chance to see some of the more than 300 birds that reside in the area such as egrets, anhinga, kingfishers, the green and great blue herons, jacanas, hawks and kites. Other animals that you might see are: iguanas, caimans, basilisk lizards, fishing bats, three-toed sloths, monkeys such as the howler, white-faced and spider monkeys.
